Eden Camp is a multi-award winning Modern History Theme Museum housed within the grounds of an original World War Two prisoner of war camp.
One of its renowned displays is the reconstructed street, Kirkgate, that has been hugely influential in museum displays worldwide. The York Castle Museum is housed in a former debtors’ prison and an adjoining former women’s prison, both of which are Grade I listed. The museum’s name comes from the fact it stands on the site of the former York Castle.

Whenever anyone would say ‘we’re having pancakes at our house…’ you could guarantee we’d be feeding a crowd. That’s something we’ve always loved. So, we’ve opened our Dutch pancake house on 7 Church Street in York, and now everyone can come to our house for pancakes!
Our exhibition program focuses on the presentation of modern and contemporary work in glass and ceramics, specifically work from 1900 to date, exploring the development of contemporary practice and presenting this work within the context of recent history.
